Senior Citizen Centers

The local newspaper from Brookfield, CT recently published an article about an addition on to its senior citizens center. The addition seems fairly large, about 2,300 square feet. The addition will cost about $2.184 million, and local seniors are very happy to see the addition and renovations of the senior center becoming a reality. There was a concern that the current economy might dampen the possibility of this long overdue project becoming a reality.

The most interesting information about the article, in my opinion, is that participation in the center has increased and expectation are that it will increase even more as baby boomers enter their senior years. Boomers seem more willing to maintain an active lifestyle than previous senior generations. Already there is more demand for additional exercise programs.

You can read more about this item here. Expanding and renovated senior centers are the wave of the future as the largest generation in American history is approaching retirement and senior status.
